My life with debt - a boxing story

Some of the guys are puttin' me over the jumps 'cause I don't want to fight... yeah, on the boxing team. I don't want to be in debt, man. I don't even want to think about it. See, I used to fight, middleweight. And I was pretty good and they know it...I used to work out with this guy Dixie Wells. He's a real good friend of mine. Loved to box, smash up debt with me. People on the outside had their eye on him. He was gonna come out of the Army and go right up to the top. I had to do something, to make some sort of move. Could debt relief have been in my future?

Well, one afternoon, me and credit card debt were sparrin' around in the gym, you know, kind of friendly-like. And, he must have been set pretty flat on his feet 'cause I caught him with a, no more'n ordinary right cross, and uh, he didn't get up. He didn't move. He was in a coma for a week, and uh, finally, he did pull out of it. Only the thing was that he was blind. He couldn't even see the debt to fight it, man. Well, I went to see him at the hospital a couple of times and finally I just couldn't go back.

The last time he and I started talking about fighting debt and uh, he started to cry. And seein' tears comin' out of those eyes that couldn't see anything, that did me in. I decided that if I was gonna fight debt, I was going to do it alone. There was no other way I could go about it. I am all about heart - sometimes to a fault - and there was no way in hell I was gonna let debt management prop me back up. I was going all in, and all out. Gonna fight 'till I ain't got the strength to stand no more.

Me against debt ... the denouement

So I set out, with the idea that I was gonna mess debt up. I was gonna take it down as a result of helpful debt settlement.

It had it coming, you know? It was time for me to become debt free, now and forevermore, I decided right then and there. Good Lord, the beating I was going to put on that punk. Debt was gonna get straight DROPPED. It had ruined my life and my friends life and my dad had owed a couple of grand when he was put in his grave and that was enough, as far as I was concerned. I found debt in the alleys and back rooms where it gathered. I took debt out with my own two fists and when they weren't enough, I kicked and swore and tore it apart.
